When I began to realise that my success (or to be more accurate, my lack of success) online was because I didn’t stick at anything long enough to give it a real shot, I decided to set up a new site were I would publicly share my actions and results from following a particular strategy. I’d give each strategy a good month of work, and if I didn’t see some promising results by the end of the month, I’d move on. If I did see results, I’d stop the daily updates to the site, but I’d keep on working at the strategy.
I think I’ve re-launched that site about 3 times now.
But… times move on. People change. I change. And I’ve got some interesting life changes coming up soon. So I’ve started to buckle down – hence my recent (and near future) rash of product micro-launches.
So I thought I’d dust off MonthlyStrategies.com to give it another shot. Take a look at it if you’re interested in seeing what I’m up to aside from what goes on here. I will announce each strategy here, so that you’re aware of it, but I won’t give further updates on the progress except at Monthly Strategies.
As I’ve launched a couple of special offers on the Warrior Forum recently, I’ve had a quick glance down the front page to see what’s selling. (And oh boy, do I wish people weren’t allowed to put stupid bloody symbols in the titles).
One (I forget which one) was inspired by Allen Says, apparently, where Allen talked about making a product available via reprint rights, but the product is only downloadable from you. So if someone wants to sell the rights to the product, they still get 100% of the fee, but the fee is determined and processed by your site – hence protecting the price.
I had the same idea a few years back.
As did Jonathan Ledger of the “7$ strategy” fame.
As did Andy Brocklehurst(?) of TheQuickWay.com
As did, I’m sure, many others. Even the Butterfly Marketing approach can be used in the same way by giving 100% commissions to your affilates… who are then effectively resellers.
It just goes to show that often, a new idea can re-surface time and time again, and one thing you can do to make your idea stand out from the previous ones is to simply wait a while…
And here’s a free twist if you’re thinking about this sort of thing:
Make the “product” a password-protected website. That way people can’t just share the ebook, PDF, or whatever.
And before I say any more, I include myself in that group – at least until recently.
A quote from a report I just read
“When you leave yourself open to all possibilities, you end up choosing none.”
That’s it. Go work it out.
It’s amazing what you can find buried away in forums, if you frequent them. Often, they can be filled with the biggest pile of time-wasting, useless, misguided, opinionated drivel that you can think of. And sometimes – just sometimes – you’ll get a thread where the original poster shares something really useful, and person after person contributes to the information till you end up with so much good stuff, you’re amazed.
I decided to start saving those threads, and wrote a piece of software to help do that. At the moment, it works for vBulletin only – so the Warrior Forum is my main place to use it, although there are others that I frequent even less frequently that have some good posts (eg, blackhatworld.com)
And I’m making that software available to you free of charge (well, you’ll need to join my site updates mailing list – that’s all).
Just a quick one. Due to a family crisis this week, I’d not put in place the changes I needed to close the fast mover bonus this morning, so you’ve got the rest of today (till around midnight GMT) if you’re still interested in the fast mover bonus mentioned on the sales page.
