Stay On Focus 1.2 Available For Download
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
The new version is available for download. The changes include:
1. The icons will now appear correctly after rebooting your PC. There were two things I did to fix this, one of which was to have the main window NOT show itself immediately. You’ll need to right-click the system tray icon (the small icon in your lower-right desktop) and select “Show”, or simply double-click that same icon.
2. You’ll get a definite message to say that your changes have saved after you press “save”. Note: if you just edit one of the task names, or move it up/down, or delete it, the changes will still be saved silently behind the scenes. You just won’t get a message.
3. The version number is show in the bottom-right of the main window after you’ve installed it.
I’m about to send a mail to registered users with the download URL. I hope you find it useful.

I noticed that the up and down arrow icons dissapear. Do you have an update for this. Thank you. By the way, this is a great piece of software that is really helping me to stay on focus, and I really need it, cause their is not many places more distracting than the internet for me. Grat Job!
Sincerely,
Mark Adams

Hi Mark,
I sent out an announcement email to subscribers yesterday, although admittedly, GetResponse had some issues and the mail might have been sent with a blank subject line. You can get the latest version from

Glad you like it. Do you mind if I quote you as a testimonial on stayonfocus.com?

Hi Andy,
Sure, you are more than wellcome to use what I wrote to you as a testimonial. I hope it helps.
I have a question for you. One that I have wondered for a long time. What is the best way to break into designing programs if you don’t know how to program. Do you hire someone at Elance or rentacoder or would it be better to learn to program and do it your self? Do you have any advice to get started? Thanks for your help!
Best egards,
Mark

Mark,
Thanks very much - I’ll add your comments when I get the chance.
I learned to program first, for my day job. Now I hire for real complicated stuff that I don’t have experience in; or when I don’t have time to do something that I could do otherwise.
My suggestion: depends on what you enjoy. If you like programming (or at least messing about with Excel Macros or something similar), go for it. But always have outsourcing at the back of your mind. But programming takes a lot of time. I’ll probably move more towards outsourcing, so that I can spend time A) developing product ideas that I can then have someone else develop, and B) marketing them.
Marketing is the crux here. Great products won’t market themselves.
Hope that helps,
Andy
