Configuration
The configuration for AYB Autoblogger is all done within one webpage. You don't need to edit PHP scripts or .ini
files - just open your browser, enter your new details, and hit the "Save" button.
Opening The Admin Page
Point your browser to the admin.php file that you just transferred (eg,
http://www.yourdomain.com/aybautoblogger/admin.php )
Initial Login Details
The initial login details are a nice easy username of 'admin' and password of 'admin' (both lower case and
without the quotes)
Change Your Login Details
The first thing to do is to change your login details. This will help to protect the privacy of your data and
blog.
Setting Up Your WordPress Blog Details
Next enter your WordPress blog details:
- WordPress XMLRPC URL
This is the URL of a file that external applications can use to
interface to WordPress. It should be in the root level of your WordPress install, and is called
'xmlrpc.php'.
So if your blog's front page is at http://www.domain.com then your
XMLRPC URL will be http://www.domain.com/xmlrpc.php
And if your blog's front page is at http://www.domain.com/blog/ then your XMLRPC URL will be
http://www.domain.com/blog/xmlrpc.php
- WordPress Username and Password
As expected, this is the username/password you use to access your blog. (For advanced WordPress users, you
could create a secondary user on your blog, and set them up as Editor - this will allow the AYB AutoBlogger to
create posts and categories).
- Category Naming
This field determines the categories which are used when each post is created. This field can be spun and use datatags, so the
category naming is quite flexible. The autoblogger will create new categories if the category does
not exist.
Just below this field, you'll see the list of datatags available for the category naming.
- Debug
If you are having problems with the script, turn on this option, and copy/paste the details into a support ticket.
Data File Settings
- Data File Name
In this field, enter the name of the CSV file that you have purchased from OdditySoftware. (Just the filename,
not any folder information).
- Loop When Complete
When the Autoblogger has finished posting all your data file details to your blog, you can either let
it stop, or let it loop back to the beginning and start re-posting the same data again. With good content
spinning, this can be a way of massively multiplying the number of pages on your blog, without hitting any
duplicate content issues.
